Problem:
The anniversary of the adidas Superstar required a digital experience that reflected the cultural weight and design legacy of the shoe. A standard product page was not sufficient to showcase its craftsmanship, history, and iconic details.
The challenge was to design an interactive experience that felt premium and immersive, while remaining intuitive and high performing within the adidas app environment.
Approach:
I focused on designing a scroll-driven interaction model that allowed users to naturally explore the shoe in 3D without introducing unnecessary complexity. The interaction needed to feel fluid and deliberate, guiding attention to signature features such as the shell toe, materials, and construction details.
Visual hierarchy and motion were carefully balanced to ensure the experience enhanced product understanding rather than becoming a novelty. All interactions were designed to integrate seamlessly with adidas’s existing navigation and commerce structure.
Solution:
I designed the page layout and interaction framework for a 3D, scroll-based product experience that allows users to rotate and explore the Superstar in detail. As users scroll, the shoe responds dynamically, revealing key design elements and craftsmanship moments in a controlled sequence.
The final experience elevates the product presentation, turning an iconic silhouette into an interactive digital showcase while maintaining clarity, performance, and usability.
