Veronica Brand Development

Problem
The iconic Dutch television and radio brand Veronica needed a refresh that could unify its identity across multiple channels. With a fragmented brand presence, it risked losing distinctiveness in a crowded and highly competitive broadcast landscape.

Approach
Working with Cape Rock in Amsterdam, we looked to Veronica’s history for inspiration—its beginnings as a pirate station broadcasting from the sea. From this unique heritage, we developed a visual signature anchored by a wave animation, creating both a symbolic and functional brand element.

Solution
The wave device became the centerpiece of a flexible design system applied across digital, broadcast, and print. This cohesive framework not only modernized the brand but also gave Veronica a powerful, recognizable identity—linking its rebellious past to a confident future presence.

Brand Concept & Narrative Development: Drew from Veronica’s origins as a pirate broadcaster at sea to establish a unifying story that could guide the brand refresh.

Visual Identity & Motion System: Designed a flexible identity anchored by a wave animation—both a symbolic nod to its heritage and a functional graphic device for use across formats.

Collaboration & Creative Direction: Partnered with Cape Rock (Amsterdam) to shape the system, ensuring it balanced historical authenticity with contemporary broadcast design standards.

Cross-Platform Application & Consistency: Delivered a cohesive toolkit applied across broadcast, digital, and print, creating a recognizable and enduring identity for Veronica.
